Basic Ingredients                  Makes about two 10oz Servings

  • 1 Cup Organic Frozen or Fresh Berries
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1/2 Organic Banana
  • 1/2 Organic Apple
  • 1 Heaped Tbsp Unsweetened Almond Butter
  • 1 TbspHemp Seeds
  • 1 1/2 Cups Organic Greens & Veggies

My go-to ingredients & method:

Throw all ingredients into a high speed blender: Frozen organic berries (we like blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, pomegranate, blackberries), 1/2 a banana, 1/2 an apple, almond butter (sunflower, cashew also great), hemp seeds, water, a great big handful of spinach and/or rainbow chard (about a cup), 2 inch chunks each of: zucchini, cucumber, carrot and purple cabbage. Play around with ingredients and tweak the quantities as you see fit, there’s no exact science. Blend slow first and then rev it up to full speed for 30-60 seconds or so. No need to add milk, juice, yogurt or ice cream. This is plenty sweet and filling as it is. One 10oz serving provides approx 7g of protein, tons of good, healthycarbs & fats, an amazing amount of fiber, vitamin C, potassium and everything we need to stay healthy and alert. Smoothies are also a great way to get a couple servings of fruits and vegetables in without too much effort and when you blend it yourself, you know exactly what’s in there and more importantly, what’s not in there!!
