Kale, Basil, Avocado & Hemp Pesto

Easy, Nutrition Packed, Plant-based Pesto!

A healthy handful of Basil Leaves
3-5 Kale Leaves with stems removed
1/8 cup Hemp Seeds
3 Brazil Nuts
Garlic Clove
1/2 an Avocado


This is a super easy and quick recipe that is packed with phytonutrients, healthy (unrefined) fats, protein packed nuts and seeds, fiber, immune boosters and delicious flavors. It's dairy, salt and oil free but still loaded with flavor and goodness. Not just for pasta, this can be slathered on toast underneath more avocado or as a base for fresh tomatoes, mixed into ratatouille or rubbed into a simple baked eggplant.... The possibilities are endless.

Throw all ingredients into a food processor and pulse away. You may need to push down the sides a few times but should take all of 1 minute to make. I really like garlic so often put in 2 cloves and it's, of course, ok to add more avocado!!! 

Play around with the quantities and make it your own per your flavor profile. As with nearly all of my recipes, this is not an exact science. Follow your gut and have fun!!

In an air-tight container, this should last in the fridge for about 5 days.
